Crystal Lake DUI – Arrests

Some people say that some cities are aggressive on DUI arrests.  If you listen to the Crystal Lake Police Department they would tell you that the are.  But are they?  In 2013 they wrote 111 DUIs.  That’s about a DUI arrest every three days.  Sounds like a lot right?  Well let’s do some comparison shopping.  Crystal Lake has 38,000 people and Route 14 running right through the middle of it.  So let’s compare their DUI arrest rate to a village about 30 times smaller with no major road running through it (unless you count country Route 120).

So how do you feel about Crystal Lake DUI arrests now?  As it turns out the number of arrests that a city makes is highly dependent on the police officers.  Some officers will write a DUI at below a 0.08 (I know that seems impossible but they still do.  When you hire an attorney to represent you in a Crystal Lake DUI or a Bull Valley DUI, you will want a lawyer that will tell the jury how the officer who arrested you fits into that scheme (and it is a scheme).
